Since 2018, an estimated 81 million microplastics including pellets, nurdles and microfibres have been captured using Seabin technology, globally.
Seabin launched their Smart City program in Sydney in 2019 and aim to be in 100 cities by 2050. From June 2020 – January 2022 the programme has :
- filtered 6.5 billion litres of water
- collected 31.3 tonnes of marine debris
- 1.4 million pieces of plastic items captured (approx.)
Seabin’s aim is to turn off the tap to plastic pollution using plastic data monitoring, education and clean up, through their 100 smarter cities programme; a mission in line with our focus on creating a bluer world here at Nautica.
